Pro-Equity Anti-Racism (PEAR)

Our Mission

Our statutory purpose is to promote the dependability of financial information. To do this, we ensure that CPAs are qualified and provide professional-level services.

We are committed to embed the Pro-Equity Anti-Racism (PEAR) framework outlined in Executive Order 22-04 in our decision-making and actions, and to carrying out the Governor’s mission to create an anti-racist Washington across state government.

Our purpose is to create a PEAR ecosystem that embraces equity, inclusion, trust, access, respect, and belonging. 

Our Teams

PEAR Team
Our internal PEAR team drives efforts to develop our advisory group and serves as a point of contact between the community and our agency.

PEAR Advisory Team
Our advisory team is composed of stakeholders from diverse demographics to bring their personal insights, experiences, and opportunities to the agency’s PEAR commitments.  Using a SPICE model, we seek to enhance our interactions with each community.

Community Interaction

Seek: Search out new partners; learn and understand how to interact with other communities in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner.

Partner: Work in a shared decision-making model.

Inform: Provide updates in an accessible manner; share information in ways that reach different communities.

Connect/Collaborate: Make contact to build or strengthen relationships; co-create.

Engage: Interact with others through activities or events and listen to understand the perspectives of community members.
